Question
What is a chakra
and what does
it do for me?
Chakras are energy centers that
reside within our bodies.
They are our Divine essence
or soul energy.
The energy that emits from them
is what we call the aura.
There are seven main chakras that run
from the top of our heads all the way
down to the bottom of our spines.
These seven can be found in many
styles of energy work and
healing practices.
These seven influence all aspects
of our being: spiritually, mentally,
emotionally and physically.
They are the chakras we
work with in Reiki.
The word “chakra” in Sanskrit
translates to “wheel of light.”
That is because a chakra assumes
the shape of a spinning tornado
or vortex and the energy from them
gives off a glow or light.
What they do for you is to let you
and/or a holistic practitioner know
how you are doing spiritually, mentally,
emotionally and physically.
How the chakra is spinning,
what the color looks like,
what the energy (aura) feels like
are all ways to determine
how you are doing on
all of these levels.
They shift and change based on
what we experience and
how we choose to respond.
We work with them to make changes in
our perspective on a soul level
to bring us back into
harmony and balance and that in turn,
changes how we experience life.
